At Hande Hospital (9500060991) Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) is performed as a cosmetic procedure (pendulous or hanging abdomen especially after repeated child births) and also along with a Ventral Hernia repair (Umbilical, Para-Umbilical, and Incisional Hernia). It can also be combined with Hysterectomy and other elective procedures and many of our patients opt for this combination of procedures after the surgeon has determined the feasibility of combining both procedures.
Stay in hospital will be for three to five days. There will be a thin scar hidden in the panty line. This settles over a period of time. Tummy tuck can be combined with liposuction especially of the hips etc.
Tummy tuck is performed usually for women, after she has completed her family.

Laparoscopic removal of the gall bladder (cholecystectomy) for gall stone disease is a well established procedure. A telescope is introduced via the umbilical port after insufflating the abdomen with carbon-dioxide. A camera is attached to the telescope and the intra-abdominal contents are visualized in a monitor. Various long instruments are introduced via other ports and the cystic duct (duct of the gall bladder) and cystic duct are isolated and cut after clipping them as shown in the video above. After making sure there is no bleeding, the ports are removed and the wounds are closed with one or two stitches.
There are distinct advantages when the gall bladder is removed laparoscopically. A long incision is avoided; stay in hospital is shorter; one can get back to normal life much faster – these are some of the advantages. However there are a few instances when one may not succeed in performing the surgery laparoscopically. In such instances your surgeon may decide to convert the surgery into a conventional open surgery. However such instances fortunately are rare.
